The Burn-in Monitor appears after the game is left idle for "a very long time." It is shown during Petscop 16. Initially, it displays an alert message, urging the reader to leave the PlayStation on, and to call a provided phone number: A phone number is provided after the message. While the number is censored, the black box is removed prematurely at one point, briefly allowing the area code (203) to be seen. While the message is visible, the screen periodically flashes orange, and a loud buzzing
