The Straight & Contoured Non-Stretch Fitting Waistband Kit includes everything you need to make both a straight and a contoured Fitting Waistband. I've gathered all of the best supplies to create these waistbands to use during The Whole Scoop ~Multi-Method Pants Fitting process. (These waistbands can also be used with the Top Down Center Out Pants Fitting Method). Working with a waistband that is separate from the fit muslin allows you to set the position of the waistband before you start fitting the muslin. Having a sturdy, non-stretch anchor to drape your pants muslin from makes quick work of balancing the front leg to the back leg. The process of balancing the leg will identify the length of the front and back crotch seams. It will also allow you to get the side and inseams to hang straight from your full hip. I have been working with a this technique in both in-person classes and in Zoom classes with women of all shapes and sizes. From my experiences in these classes, I have found that after you balance the leg, you may not need any traditional pants fitting adjustments. If you do need to fine-tune the fit, working with a balanced leg will keep those adjustments to a minimum. Once you spend the time to make a non-stretch fitting waistband, you can use it over and over again to fit many pants patterns. This non-stretch fitting waistband is also easy to work with. The Hook Side of the 1/2 Velcro is sewn to the base of the right side of the waistband. This represents the 1/2 seam allowance for the waistband and it works together with the Loop Side of the Velcro that's sewn onto the inside of the fit muslin to make it easy to manage the fabric around the waistline. The 1 1/2 wide Velcro Closure makes the waistband adjustable You can make it snugger or looser. This kit includes step-by-step printed instructions and: 1/2 yard Heavy Non-Stretch Muslin 1/4 yard Firm Non-Stretch Fusible Interfacing 2 yards of 1 Ban Roll 4 yards of 1/2 Velcro 2 - 3 long pieces of 1 1/2 wide Velcro for the closures Click Here for The Straight Non-Stretch Fitting Waistband Kit (A Straight Waistband fits best snuggled into the smallest measurement around your mid section. If you have a defined waistline and you like your pants to sit there, a straight waistband is a good choice.) Click Here for the Contoured Non-Stretch Fitting Waistband Kit (A Contoured Waistband is happy to sit anywhere on your mid section, allowing you to position it where it's comfortable for you.)
