For my bespoke trousers I go with a ~22cm (~8.7in) leg opening, which is ideal based on tailor recommendation and personal preference and not chosen based on some mathematical formula (even though it fits the one of Tony The Tailor since I have U.S. shoe size 10.5 and wear flat front trousers)
