The VII type was the most produced type of German WWII U-boats with a total of 703 deployed in total. Out of those 568 deployed were U-boats VIIC type, making VIIC the most prevalent type of U-Boat. The first VIIC was U-69 and was deployed in 1940. VIIC type had a lot of operational success due to its excellent characteristics, where the only limiting factor was its range of 8500 nm.
