DESERT GARDENER: When is a Rose not a Rose? When it is a Desert Rose, Valley Women
Desert Rose, Adenium obesum, is a caudiciform succulent that has an enlarged base, called a caudex, and thick branches that hold water in times of drought. Its drought-tolerance makes this a wonderful container plant for those of us who may forget to water our houseplants.
